Once this foot long section was removed, the acai palm was left to die, and it is thought that they do not grow back. By creating a market for the acai berry, the trees could live and flourish in the Brazilian rainforest, providing income for the local population and helping to save the earth by its very existence.
The MonaVie MORE Project focuses on helping the local Brazilian families learn new skills. It helps them find new resources and supports them in their efforts to create new and better lives. Education is a big part of the project as the mission is to help and support the people so they can eventually take care of themselves and create their own opportunities. And then as they move ahead, they can turn and help others in the community so that everyone has a chance to succeed.
One way that MonaVie supports the MORE Project is by paying all of the administrative costs and in this way all other donations go directly to the MORE programs in Brazil, whose staff work every day to help support and lift up the local population. Along with the MonaVie founders and leaders, the project is also supported by many of the MonaVie independent distributors.
In fact it was a MonaVie distributor, Doug Roland, who originally met Sergio Ponce who was doing charitable work with the poverty stricken population outside of Rio. This is the work that was supported and grew into the MORE Project.
Today MonaVie MORE supports several other projects including Mom’s House, The Father’s House, and several other programs. Each of the programs is designed and dedicated to supporting the poorest Brazilian citizens and helping them create lives full of hope and dignity.
